This paper contributes to the electronic banking (e-banking) literature by applying\nthe modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in an under-researched\nZambian context. Specifically, it examines the influence of e-banking\ntechnology�s perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and trust (safety and\ncredibility) on e-banking adoption. Based on a quantitative correlational design,\nprimary sample data were collected from 222 bank customers from two\nof Zambia�s largest cities. The findings indicate that the modified TAM model\nis applicable in the Zambian context and that perceived usefulness, ease of use\nand trust each significantly positively influences attitude to e-banking. In turn\nattitudes to e-banking influence intention and actual adoption of e-banking\nservices. For scholars, practitioners and policy makers, the study shows that\nimproving perceptions of trust (safety, security and credibility), usefulness\nand ease of use of e-banking systems would result in increased adoption. In this paper we study how does bankââ?¬â??borrower relationships benefits differ depending on three factors identified in the theoretical literature: verifiability of information, bankââ?¬â?¢s organizational structure and interbank competition. We employ an empirical model that simultaneously accounts for all three of these factors to analyse how relationship lending affects credit cost. Our key result is that that borrowers with long relationship length are likely to be captured and deprived of larger rents and that the diversification of banking products moderate the hold-up problem. These latter findings suggest the possibility that relationship borrowers may suffer from capture effects. Moreover, we find evidence that close relationships benefit on credit cost is larger in a more competitive loan market. So, banks consider relationships as a device for product differentiation....
The current economic situation in Nigeria like in many other countries makes it almost inevitable that a number\nof companies will be financially distressed and in need of some form of reorganization to ensure they can continue\nas a going concern. As at July 2016, over 4 million employees have lost their jobs given challenges faced by their\ncompanies (FSB, 2016). By the end of 2015, industry and CBN reports put the total stock of non-performing loans at\nabout N620 billion, which is almost at the CBN regulatory threshold of 5%. This position has deteriorated to 22% as\nat March 2016, compared to 3.8% in March 2015.\nThe CBN Financial Stability Report for the second half of 2015, shows that non-performing loans (NPLs) in the\nNigerian banking system rose by 78.8% over 2014 figures from N649.63 billion as of December 31, 2015 compared\nwith N363.31 billion recorded at the end of December 2014 (CBN, 2015)....
This study examined the effectiveness of motivational strategies on productivity,\nwith reference to First Bank of Nigeria and Union Bank of Nigeria employees.\nThe study adopted the descriptive survey research design. The findings\nrevealed that there is positive relationship between motivational strategies\nand employees� productivity. The result demonstrated that The financial\nstrategies available to employees are leave allowances, bonus and fringe benefits\npaid when due, availability and accessibility of medical insurance, pension\nfund scheme and the non-financial strategies are promotions as at when due,\ntraining and friendly work environment contribute immensely to high productivity\nof employees. The finding indicated that motivational strategies have\nsignificant influence on productivity of workers as it makes workers put in\ntheir best always, and manage to use it as a tool to motivate and increase\nproductivity, and influences workers� attitude towards work doing impact on\nthe morale of workers and helps workers put in their best. There is a significant\neffect of promotion, allowances and benefits medical insurance scheme,\npension fund scheme, work environment on productivity. Motivational strategies\nin the workplace enhance high level of productivity. The following recommendations\nwere made; the management needs to improve salaries, benefits\nfrom time to time and improve the working condition of workers. Also\ngive a sense of recognition, belongingness, chance to contribute and flexibility\nin approaches to conflicts with the workers....
Since the dawn of civilization, evolvement in communication has always been the cardinal factor of reformation towards building a courteous association of human race. Likewise, to ensure attainment of absolute expedient outcome from a business organization, there is just no substitute of effective business communication. So it is of utmost significance that the employees maintain a meaningful communication not only with the top management but also with their coworkers and peers. The following is a self-conducted research study on the various roles and impacts of business communication on employee performance and job satisfaction. The study was conducted on a renowned bank of Bangladesh. The research was directed in the form of descriptive survey through questionnaire. The data were analyzed using different expository statistical analysis methods.
